Donald G. Ashe

Donald “Donny” G Ashe, 66, passed away January 14, 2018 with family by his side at Glens Falls Hospital. He was born June 1st, 1951, in Keene Valley, the son of Warren and Eunice Ashe.
Donny graduated from Keene Central School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, Donny worked at Elm Tree Inn where he was known for the Purdy Burger. He then went to work for the Merle-Smith family. Ultimately he returned to the kitchen where he was a cook at Baxter Mountain Tavern.
He had love for his dogs, cooking, gardening, birds, music, and family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Robert Ashe and a sister Patricia Ashe. He is survived by his brother Ronald Ashe (Linda) and Cynthia Dickerson (Todd) and many nieces and nephews in addition to great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Baxter Mountain Tavern January 24th from Noon-4pm. Memorial donations may be made in Donny’s name to the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
