Marion A. (Badilla) Cashin

February 27, 1946 — August 18, 2017

Marion A. (Badilla) Cashin passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2017 CVPH in Plattsburgh NY surrounded by her loving family, due to complications from liver disease. She was born February 27, 1946, in NYC, to Albert and Marion Badilla. She has two sisters, Clorinda Moore and late husband Denis, of Wadhams, NY and Marie Pagan and husband Gabe also of Wadhams, and a brother John Badilla and his wife Mary Patricia of Bay Shore, NY . She was a 1964 graduate of St. Helen’s Business School. After graduation she worked for Greensboro Manufacturing and later Met Life Insurance Company. She married James P. Cashin on August 17, 1969. Marion and her husband owned and operated multiple successful businesses, including the Halfway House and the Whiskey Barrel, and most recently, Cashin's Cobble Hill Inn from 1991-2016. Marion truly lived life to the fullest as she enjoyed traveling with her sister, doing arts and craft, ceramics, baking, and the occasional trip to the casino. Her true passion was her family, whom she enjoyed her time with especially her two beautiful granddaughters.
Marion will be remembered most for her resiliency. She consistently overcame adversity in her life while maintaining her positive outlook and sarcastic sense of humor.
She is predeceased by her father Albert, mother Marion, and husband James; affectionately known as "Bubba". She is survived by her daughter Christina Cashin, spouse Christopher Conte of Dobbs Ferry, NY, son Patrick Cashin, spouse Courtney West of Elizabethtown, NY, son Matthew Cashin and daughter in-law Kristen Cashin-Buck of Plattsburgh, NY, and son Joseph Cashin and daughter in-law Jacki Cashin with their children Mia James and Stella Grace Cashin of Delmar, NY. She also had many nieces and nephews that she had great pride in.
Wake services will be held on Monday, August 21 from 4:00-7:00pm at Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown. A Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth’s in Elizabethtown, NY with burial to follow.
