Mildred H. Walsh

Mildred H. Walsh, 92, of Elizabethtown passed away Thursday September 28, 2017 at Essex Centers in Elizabethtown. She was born in Brooklyn June 19, 1925 daughter of the late Charles and Laura (Heiser) Henris.
Mildred worked for Essex County Office of Disaster Preparedness and the former County Office of Civil Defense for many years and following her first retirement, worked for the Essex County Historical Society as a Receptionist at the Adirondack Museum. Before moving to Elizabethtown in 1954, Mildred worked for IBM in New York City.
Mildred was very active in many community organizations, including the E'town Hospital Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, and Essex County Republican Women.
She was an avid knitter and baker and enjoyed the company of her many friends.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Patricia and son-in-law Steven Gawdun, Sr of Elizabethtown and The Villages, Florida.
Calling Hours will from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown. A prayer service will follow at in the Heald Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
