Bernard E. Perry Jr.

Bernard E Perry Jr., 66 of RT 11, LaFayette, NY passed away November 12, 2021, at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 22, 1955 to the late Bernard E Perry Sr and the late Alice (King) Perry.
Bernie attended Chazy Central Rural School. He had a love for soccer and played for the Chazy Eagles as goalie under the coaching of George Brendler. He also played on the Chazy Eagles baseball team. In 1972 Bernie left school to join the United States Navy where he served until 1976 with an Honorable Discharge. In 2016 Bernie received his High School Diploma from Chazy Central Rural School under the Operation Recognition Program. A program where Veterans who left school to serve in the military before graduating can receive their Diploma from their school.
Bernie is survived by his wife Pamela Blatcher Perry, stepchildren Matthew McConnell and Megan McConnell, grandchildren Adison McConnell and Lexi Moseley, brother Steven (Janet) Perry of Chazy, NY sister Gail (Steven) Bowman of Champlain, NY and his “baby” sister Christine O’Brien of Plattsburgh, NY, brother-in-laws Kevin Laurin and John O’Brien, along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Bernie is predeceased by his parents and a sister Rebecca “Becky” Laurin.
The family will receive guests from 4 to 6 PM, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the LaFayette Presbyterian Church, Rte. 20, LaFayette, NY.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 PM, November 28, 2021 at Heald Funeral home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, NY. Interment will be at a later date in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
