Carol Ann Trombly, age 74, of Westport, NY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday October 30, 2020 at her home. Carol was born on May 14, 1946 in Lake Placid, NY. She was the daughter of Richard Neil Gil and Mary Gertrude (DeMar) Gill. She married Christopher Trombly on October 12, 2002.
She worked for many years at the Keene Valley Neighborhood House as well as Uihlein as a caregiver. She was also employed for over 30 years as a housemaid to her very dear friends, Jim & Marsha Morley.
Carol loved the most-simplest things in life, spending time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchild. She enjoyed cooking, whether a large feast or baking for the holidays. She loved dancing, playing Yahtzee, and sitting out on her porch in the evenings with her husband Chris.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Chris Trombly, daughter Anita Hughes of Brunswick, GA, Kristy and husband Curtis McKoy of Raleigh, NC, and son Travis Smith of Westport, NY. She is also survived by step-sons Christopher and wife Samantha Tromby of Idaho, and Jeff Trombly of Ticonderoga, NY. Carol is also survived by step-daughter Martha and husband Leigh Hadley of Saranac Lake, and step-son Steve Smith of Tupper Lake. She is also survived by brother-in-law Norris and wife Lucinda of Maine. Carol is survived by her grandchildren Ayanna, Montgomery, Caroline, Kaylon, Landon, Donevyn, Brayden, and great-grandson Mason. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren with her late husband Buck Smith. She was predeceased by her son Tarry Wilcox on August 28, 2009 and her husband Napoleon (Buck) Smith on November 27, 1993. Carol was also predeceased by her parents, Richard and Gertrude Gill, four brothers, Rollie Gill, Richard Gill, Raymond Gill, and Robert Gill, as well as her sister Barbara Vassar.
Service s will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown.
