October 3, 1936 - June 11, 2020

LEWIS – Carrie M. Pierce, 83, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020 at the Champlain Valley Senior Community in Willsboro, NY with her loving family by her side. She was born on Oct 3, 1936, daughter of Marshall and Mildred (Crowningshield) Dickerson in Lewis, NY. She graduated from Elizabethtown- Lewis Central School at the age of 16 and went on to graduate from CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY as a registered Nurse. She raised a family and after several years retired from the Horace Nye Nursing Home. She was a member of the Lewis American Legion Auxiliary Post 1319 for 29 years and the Lewis Congregational Church. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Atwood F. Pierce of Lewis, NY; children, Laurie (William) Mero of Willsboro NY, Joseph (Renee) Pierce of Bellevue, NE and son-in-law Timothy Lee of Willsboro, NY; grandchildren, Celeste (Steve) Fox of Orleans, MA, Dylan Mero of Willsboro, NY, Jolene Pierce of Troy, NY, and Claire Mero of Willsboro, NY, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Lynn (Lee) of Willsboro, NY; her brothers Weston, Warren, Marshall (Dick), Lee and Paul; and her loving sister, Joyce. There are no calling hours. Burial with memorial service are being planned for May 2021. Burial will be in the Reber Cemetery so she may lay to rest beside her daughter, Lynn. Donations in Carrie’s memory can be made to American Legion Auxiliary 1319, c/o Vesta Bill, 231 Brainards Forge Road, Westport NY 12993.
