Cornelia Trutia

Cornelia Ecaterina Trutia of Bucharest, Romania died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Cristina Trutia Baggett and Mike Baggett of Plattsburgh.
She was born Cornelia Popescu on June 8, 1938 in Bucharest, Romania. We remember “Doina” as an accomplished athlete in her earlier years, when she ran track; and for a distinguished career of 43 years as a Professor of Biophysics for the University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania.
We will always remember her as a giving and generous soul, who in her last twelve years traveled extensively from Romania to the United States to see her children and her beloved granddaughters. She was always there if you needed her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Eugen Trutia of Bucharest, Romania, and survived by her son and his family, Alexandru, Camelia and Diana Trutia of Richmond, VA; her daughter and her family, Cristina, Mike and Ingrid of Plattsburgh.
The Baggett family will receive guests at their home Sunday September 22 at 1:00 PM for a memorial service.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday September 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
