Gary R. Macey, 75, of Morrisonville, passed awayFriday, August 19, 2016 at UVM Health Network CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side after a short courageous battle with Cancer. He was born in Plattsburgh on October 7, 1940 son of the late Ross and Margaret (Connick) Macey.
Gary proudly served in the US Army, 1959-1962,, and was stationed in Korea. Upon returning home, he drove tractor trailer, retiring from Roadway Express in 1998. His love for driving received him many awards, including his individual Million Miler. Gary’s most important thing in life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father to two sons, whom he could not have been more proud of. He enjoyed Fords and Harleys riding for over 50 Years. Most people would know him by his red pickup and his sense of humor.
Left to cherish many beautiful memories is his loving wife and soul mate, Carol (Guynup) of 40 years, his sons and spouses, Terry (Lynn) Macey of Beekmantown, Scott (Judy) Macey of Connecticut, 2 step children, Randy Garrant, Jr. of Plattsburgh, Michelle Garrant of Plattsburgh, son in law Mark Garren of Plattsburgh, 2 sisters, Ina Baker of Plattsburgh, Beverly Rivers of Morrisonville, father in law William Guynup, brothers in laws and sister in law, William Guynup, Jr. of Plattsburgh, Mike (Laura) Guynup of West Plattsburgh, Tom (Wendy) Guynup of Beekmantown, Terry (Tammy) Guynup of Cadyville, David (Dina) Guynup of Plattsburgh, Debbie (Roy) Warren of Beekmantown, his grandchildren, Tabitha Macey, Scott Macey, Jr. of Minnesota, Kylee Garren of Plattsburgh, Courtney Macey of West Chazy, Dylan Garrant of Plattsburgh, Konner Garrant of Plattsburgh, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, there were special people in Gary’s life, his nephew Walter (Millie) Rivers, close friends, Donald Dayton, Ed Cope, Paul and Shirley Trombley and Mary Salton. He is predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, Russell and Leonard, sister Nancy Gebo and mother in law Doris Guynup.

calling hours will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday August 24, 2016 at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family..
