Herbert E. Bushey 88, of ValeHaven, Main Street in Peru, died on Saturday May 4, 2019 at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Beekmantown on May 30, 1930 the son of Edward and Edith (Rivers) Bushey.
He was Private First Class E1 in the US Army from August 1951 to March 1953. He was later honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1957. After returning to civilian life he was hired to work with his brother Harry Bushey, at Bushey's Used, delivering and refinishing furniture from local rummage sales. He was married for 18 years to a Maracia Parrotte from June 26, 1959 to September 8, 1977.
Herbert is pre-deceased by his brothers; Harry Bushey, William Bushey, Halsey Bushey, Ray Bushey,and two sisters Gertrude Parrott and Anna Bushey.
He is survived by 2 nephews, Richard (Hilary) Bushey, and Randy Bushey and two nieces Deborah Spinks and Linda (Wendall) Wilson. He is also survived by 5 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces and 2 great-great nephews.
A grave side service at St. Peter's Cemetery with Full Military Honors, will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 am.
