Jean Shirley Lewis Ganas

Jean Shirley Lewis Ganas, 94, of Keene Valley Neighborhood house, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2020 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. She was born in Lewis on November 18, 1925 daughter of the late Henry and Bessie (Daniels) Lewis.
Jean was born and raised in Lewis. Jean graduated from Elizabethtown School in 1941 and was Valedictorian. She also graduated from the Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing with her RN Degree on September 5, 1947. Jean served her country in the U S Navy and the Naval Reserves from 1951-1960, being discharged as a Lieutenant. She Married Constantine Ganas October 23, 1987. Jean spent most of her life in Maryland but moved back to Lewis to be with family and friends.
Jean is survived by her sister in law Patricia Lewis, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews along with several great great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Constantine, sister Lilla Lewis and brother Thaddeus Lewis.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
