Jeannine "Jenny" Guay

Jeannine “Jenny” Guay (née Bédard), 94, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully with loving family at her side on Thursday, July 1st, 2021. Jenny was born on December 4th, 1926 in Lacolle, Québec, the daughter of the late Wilbrod and Aurora Bédard. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew Guay, as well as her eight brothers: Élie, Léo, Wilbrod, Gérard, Adrien, Isidore, Guy and Hérmas Bédard, and three sisters, Jeannette and Marie Bédard and Marie-Rose Surprenant.

Jenny is survived by her two sons, Alain Guay of Hinesburg, VT, and Serge Guay of West Chazy, NY, eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, her sister Thérèse Guay of Mooers, N.Y., brother Victor Guay of Lacolle, Quebec and sisters-in-law, Madelaine Bédard and Marthe Guay of Québec.

Jenny immigrated to NY from Canada with her husband and two children in 1955, after which she worked at HL Greens department store followed by 20 years of service at Imperial Wallcovering. She enjoyed traveling, experiencing new cultures, and learning about the world. Jenny was never afraid to take on a new adventure or try something new. She took pleasure in gardening, doing puzzles, quilting, bowling, and making delicious homemade jams. She was also fond of visiting with her beloved friends and family, and was an active member of the Busy Bees. Jenny was a little woman with a big heart.

A memorial service to celebrate Jenny’s life will be held at a later date.
