Kenneth Nelson Knapp

After a protracted battle with cancer, Kenneth Nelson Knapp, 56 passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2020 at his family home in Keene surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind one son, Dustin Knapp and his wife Tiffiny. Kenny was born on August 11, 1964, to the father Conrad Knapp of Rutland, VT and mother Nancy E. Knapp, who predeceased him in 2019. Kenny grew up in a loving family, with 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Kenny grew up in Tupper Lake loving to ski at Big Tupper with his brothers, sisters and father, later moving to Keene to his grandparent’s farm. After high school Kenny served in the US Army after which he then trained at the New England Culinary School where his love for cooking for his family and friends continued on, you could always find him projecting a wide smile behind the grill. Kenny’s free spirit showed the best when he was out on the road on his motorcycle: every man dies, but not every man truly lives and Kenny lived. Kenny lived in ways we should all aspire to be like. He had courage and the biggest heart full of love and joy. Even in his toughest battle, he never wavered. He was kind, gentle and giving until the end. Not many people can match Kenny’s skills and no one can match his love as a father, brother, son or as a human being. Heaven is lucky to have such an amazing man and he will be missed dearly.
Kenny is survived by his son, Dustin Knapp (Tiffiny) of Warrensburg, NY, Terry Jordan (Jim) of Niskayuna, NY, Brian Knapp (Kelly) of Keene, NY, Donna Velez (Joe) of Vermont, David Knapp of Melbourne, FL and Lynn Hannah of Houston, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Kenny’s wishes are to be cremated and his ashes will be interred at the family plot in Reber Cemetery, 11:30 AM Saturday December 5, 2020, alongside his paternal grandparents Rolland and Susan Knapp. The family would especially like to thank High Peaks Hospice, and the nurses (Collette, Rachel and Mel) for their support and attentive care they gave to Kenny.
