KEENE VALLEY – Lorie M. Gregory, 84, of Keene Valley, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY.

She was born in Staten Island, NY on March 21, 1931, the youngest daughter of Robin and Hilda (Reinsdorf) Martin. Lorie graduated from Keene Valley High School in 1949 and married Edward Gregory of Keene Valley in 1950.

A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enriched the soil of their growth with warmth, wisdom and mirth. Lorie had the marvelous attribute of being able to laugh at herself. She loved her family and friends dearly, and behind them came Frank Sinatra, “The New Yorker”, books, music, art and cooking.

Survivors include two children, Wendy Sheasby and Suzanne Preston and her husband Seymour of Keene Valley, three grand children, Heidi Sheasby-Kirschner and her husband Andrew and their children Rubin and Talula of Glenford, NY, Morgan Sheasby and his wife Alison of Brooklyn, NY, Elly Preston of Natick, MA, a brother Paul Martin of Keene Valley, a niece and several nephews. Lorie was predeceased by her husband, Edward, her son Michael and two sisters, Suzanne Wilber and Joan Downing, and niece Robyn Korpan.

A memorial service will take place at the Keene Valley Congregational Church in Keene Valley, NY at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 19, 2015; reception will follow. Donations in Lorie’s memory may be made to the Keene Valley Library, Keene Valley, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Marvin-Heald Funeral Home, Elizabethtown, NY.
