Lorraine Mary Hathaway

Lorraine Mary Hathaway, know to many as "Hon", 80, of Elizabethtown, NY lost her battle with Alzheimer's on March 25, 2019. She was the daughter of Elmer and Leda Patnode. She was born on July 29, 1938.
She married her best friend, Ralph Hathaway, of 57 years, on September 11, 1962. They were blessed with three children: Penny Marvin, Heather Hathaway (Calvin Cumm), and Scott Hathaway. She had three grandchildren, that where her pride and joy: Dereck (Nicole) Crowningshield, Devon (Lea) Crowningshield, Lenee (Marc) Jacques. Also, two great- grandchildren: Jensen and Mia Crowningshield.
Lorraine's greatest joy was centered around her family. One of her favorite places was the camp they had on the lake in Willsboro where she loved to cook and entertain her family and many friends. She enjoyed the times with her twin sister and her family. Lorraine was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed boating. She like to play cards, shoot pool, and was an ace at shuffle board. She also enjoyed her "Fridays out to lunch bunch" at the Cobble Hill. She graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1956 and attended Albany Business College. She was known for her sense of humor and ability to brighten people's lives by just knowing her.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Ralph Hathaway, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her twin sister Elaine (Honey) Cote, brothers Robert (Helen) Patnode, Ronald (Betsy) Patnode, Carl (Tootie) Patnode, Bruce (June) Patnode, many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Leda Patnode, husbands Vernon Oliver, Edgar Marvin, brother Ellis Patnode, sisters Mary Lou Patnode, Jane Pellizzari, nephew Todd Pellizzari, nephews David, Tim and Greg Patnode.
Calling hours for Lorraine will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 Am, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the United Church of Christ Elizabethtown. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Donations in Lorraine's memory can be made to Hospice and North Country SPCA.
