She is also survived by her father, Rolland Barber and his companion JoanGrigware of Beekmantown, sister Debra (Barber) and her husband William Lopez of Beekmantown, brothers Dennis Barber of Plattsburgh and Rolland Barber II and wife Susan (Haines) of Beekmantown, sister Tammy and her husband Keith Berg of Beekmantown and sister Barbra Barber and her companion Wayne Perkins of Ellenburg Depot. Lorri is additionally survived by her Mother In-Law, Elizabeth (Rizzie) Adams and husband John “Dick” Adams, sister in-laws Joan and husband DaleMcMann, Debbie Sutherland, and Brother in-law Ron Sears and companion Mary Mattila, and many nieces and nephews. Lorri was predeceased by her mother, Sally (Buttery) Barber in 2002. Heald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Lorri graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1977, met her best friend and love of her life, Leslie “Walter” Rizzie in 1983 and married in 1987. After marriage, Lorri and Walter were blessed with three girls whom she loved unconditionally and without reservations. Lorri loved to host and attend family gatherings and it was clear that family was the priority in her life. While at family functions, Lorri was always delivering wise cracks and sending smiles. She LOVED playing poker and often won by giving her opponents what she called, “A Whammy”. Rarely was there a family function where a poker game did not break out with Lorri involved. She was renowned in the family for her poker “luck” to the point that if you were seated next to her, you were bound to lose. Often, “Lucky Lorri” was the victor and her reputation blossomed. Lorri also enjoyed Kahula and campfires and always made sure everyone had fun at camp. She also had a special place in her heart for her pets and loved each tremendously. Lorri has touched so many lives, in so many ways that many of her children’s friends came to call her “mom”. Everyone she interacted with came away richer for it. Our family loved and cherished Lorri and herways of making even bad things right again. We will miss her greatly as she embarks on her journey to her next plane of existence. Calling hours are at the Heald Funeral Home (at the corner of Court and Oak Streets in Plattsburgh) on Friday, November 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00PM with a Funeral Service immediately following at 8:00PM. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army and/or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
