Paul Grimshaw of Cooperville, NY passed peacefully in the wee hours of March 19,2020 at Meadowbrook Nursing home, his home of the past 3 years.
He is survived by the love of his life, Bernice Garrand, who was his wife for 57 years. He left behind many loved ones and friends. Among them are Paul and Bernice’s children: Tammy Daniels (and spouse Maurice Daniels), Paula Gauthier (and spouse Randy Gauthier), Timothy Grimshaw ( and partner Doris Coolidge). Paul leaves behind a sister, Ruth Attack, a brother, Kenneth Grimshaw, a sister-in- law, Carolyn Babble, and 2 brothers-in-law, David Garrand and Carlton Garrand. Paul had several grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him very much.
Many knew Paul as the owner of Grimshaw’s Sporting Goods, a business he started from scratch with Bernice just a few years after they were married. The business was his pride and trapping was his joy. He loved people and loved life, and was generous with his knowledge. Paul received several awards and recognition from the trapping community. Paul, Bernice and Grimshaw’s Sporting Goods were a staple of the community and will be sorely missed.
In lieu of a funeral, Paul’s family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
