Richard Clark Provost

Richard Clark Provost, 81, of Bushey Blvd. and formerly of Willsboro, passed away with his loving family by his side Sunday August 19, 2018 at Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Plattsburgh after a long battle with Parkinson’s. He was born in Willsboro on March 15, 1937, son of the late Eugene and Marjorie (Sweat) Provost.
He was a graduate of Willsboro Central School. He became a member of the Adirondack Carpenters Union Local 291 and retired with over 45 years of service.
Richard “Dick” had a passion for animals, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. All that knew him said he was a true gentleman with a kind soul, had a heart made of gold, a smile that would brighten your day.
He was a diehard Red Sox fan who wore a Red Sox shirt everyday! One of the best days of his life was spent visiting Fenway Park with his family. He will finish watching their amazing season from heaven with his son Ricky.
Those left behind to miss him dearly and cherish their memories with him are his wife of 54 years Patsy (Greene); his daughter, Vicki (Glen) Marra of St. Augustine Fl; his son, Ted (Sue) Lee of Lewis; his stepson Michael O’Donnell of San Diego CA; his grandchildren Colby Benway, Maegan Lee, Lance Lee; siblings, Jane (Spencer) Lobdell, Phyllis Piikkila; his very special niece Darcy Ziemer, and many other nieces and nephews.
Richard will be reunited in heaven with his son Ricky “Poova”; his parents; his brother Thurland “Sonny”; sisters, Evelyn Cutting, Thelma Curry; stepson Danny O’Donnell; his beloved dogs Poova and Bucky; any his many friends including his “dump buddies”.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the aides he had the past two years, especially Sandie Syrell, Amy LaClair, Barbara and Stella Salverson.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM August 23, 2018 at Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown. A celebration of Life will follow at 7:00PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Donations in Richard’s Memory may be made to the Ricky Foundation in Willsboro NY which was established in memory of his son helping to support the local animal shelters, Parkinson’s research, Ricky’s Scholarship and Willsboro Booster Club and Youth Commission
