Susan J. Downey, 54, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at her home in Cadyville, NY. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. to Randell E. Brown Sr. and Hazel L. (LaBombarde) Brown.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Downey, her mother, Hazel Gough of Plattsburgh, son, Samuel J. Coon III (Jessica) and grandchildren, Tragan, Katana, Trinity, and Korvan Coon of Chazy, her foster son, Tyler Boucher of Cadyville and step children Joel, Sarah, and Erin Downey of Beekmantown, her siblings; Randell Brown Jr. (Jeannie) of Daytona Beach, FL., Judith Corigliano (Thomas) of Clifton Park, NY, Larry Brown (Linda) of Fontana, CA., and Robin Bashaw (Dean) of Plattsburgh, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Randell Brown Sr., sister, Linda Brown and her beloved Great Dane, Skye.
Sue enjoyed spending her time with and caring for her family, friends, and animals. She was an avid reader and gardener and loved being outdoors. She was also passionate about rooting for and watching her softball “family” play, earning her the name of “Mama Sue”.
She loved with all she had and will be greatly missed.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Sunday, December 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Adirondack Room at the Holiday Inn.
Burial will be in the Redford Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
